We Made It!

After all my stressing out, we are finally in Wisconsin. Don't tell the thieves that might want to go and loot my house now...you know, we have so many valuables. There's the baby swing. The leather couch with the hole in the center cushion. My kids' beloved "snugglies" that they had to leave behind. My stack of size 8 jeans that don't even come close to buttoning anymore, but that I'm sure have "vintage jeans" value. We'd be devastated if those things got taken and we had to collect insurance money because of their disappearance. On second thought...spread the word, we're out of town!

Just kidding, of course.

We had a really nice day of travel. Waking up at 5 AM was brutal though. My favorite quote of the day was from Benjamin:

"Mommy? Um, when Daddy woke us up this morning I was still really really sleepy. He woke me up, and I sat up in my bed, and then I was so tired that I threw up in my mouth a little bit." (said with a sour face)

HA! We'll have to try for a later flight from now on.

The only real frustrating part of the day was...big surprise...flying through Chicago O'hare. I hate that airport! They had so much wind today that they had to shut down many of the runways. This bottle-necked all the out going flights and resulted in about a 2 1/2 hour delay for us. A Mom can only play "I spy" for so long before she loses it, you know.

And the kicker? Guess how long our flight was from Chicago to Milwaukee?

FOURTEEN MINUTES. I am not kidding. Not even a little. It was 14 whole minutes.

But there's nothing like walking into my folks' beautiful, warm, welcoming home...getting big hugs from my mom and dad...seeing my kids light up at the sight of Yaya and Papa...and eating mom's cooking. With cupcakes for dessert, no less. Ahhh, I love coming home :)

Well, it's getting late, so I'm going to go hit the hay. Just wanted to say hello from the great state of Wisconsin. I'm hoping to be able to blog while I'm here. That way you can hear all about all the brats and beer we consume! Did you know that a brat (bratwurst) has something like 60 grams of fat?!? Yikes. Something tells me that I'm not going to earn my laptop anytime soon.

Did I tell you about that? As my motivation to get into shape, hubby has agreed to buy me a kick-butt laptop when I hit my goal. Yahoo! Do you guys have laptops? What do you think is important in a good one? I want to get a nice one, but don't really know where to start. Leave me your comments, please!

OK...signing off now. Sweet dreams of mom's cooking, daddy hugs, and happy children to all of you!

wow...that is awesome motivation! as for laptops...I have an hp (that never turns on)...you should DEFINITELY get a mac...they are very basic and user-friendly when you spend a little time figuring it out (the format is very different from windows). Not only that, but they are WAY better for photography (something you are into, also!) than an hp. Definitely our next computer will be a mac.

I gotta second the vote for a mac. I've had mine for about 6 weeks, and I love everything about it. It is so easy to use, and just functions well. I've had three different people say to me "My husband would never go for a mac..." but they can never say why! Some people hate macs, but I can only think that's because they've never tried one out.
