What a beautiful reminder...less of me = more of Him.

I had training in Utah and during the session I noticed one leaf reflecting light on this magestic tree. And I was overwhelmed with the feeling of being cared for just as that leaf is cared for...year after year. As strange as it sounds (even to me), I was that leaf for a split second.

Was hard to concentrate after that! :)

Anonymous - You are correct. I am not the same Daiquiri I was a year ago.

The old Daiquiri who felt like she was stuck in a holding pattern and was feeling lost as to what she would do with herself once her carpal tunnel kept her from the computer work associated with photography.....the old Daiquiri who saw a day coming when her kids would be in school and she'd be home alone with nothing to challenge her....the old Daiquiri who finally settled into a peaceful place of contentment which was centered around making my house a home and loving my family (but was also a tiny bit bored, and who cried quite a bit).... Yes, she is gone.

My heart for the Lord is the same.

My heart for my brothers and sisters in the Lord is the same.

I'm saddened that my finding work that fulfills me and excites me feels like a loss to you. And frankly, your "I'm happy for you" feels hollow and false when it's followed by "but".

OK, I keep reading your stuff, watching you get more and more excited, and I'm ready to hear more, as long as it's not a hard sell (please!). With real numbers, though? Both $ invested, money earned, and time invested per week, day whatever unit you track. And is Minnesota a good market? Or are there tons of reps here and I just haven't heard about it yet?

I turned 50 on the 27th of September. Someone I know made a comment about my "age" and wouldn't I want to be 30 or so again..? My answer was-no. Not at all. You know what I'm finding out? I'm finding that as I age the lessons I learned in my younger years, the experiences I've had and all the special things the Lord has allowed into my life...are now just starting to solidify and I'm actually starting to feel like I have substance to my character. That the Lord really is completing what He started. It's an awesome feeling. One that just can't be felt while you are younger....sorry...just wanted to share some wisdom with a younger woman :) God Bless! I love your blog!

This recipe popped up on my Google search for a salsa recipe for canning. It looks delicious and will help me preserve the romas from my garden this year.
Any tips for canning? Should I make alterations to the recipe for the amount that I am putting into the hot water bath?

Wow. I cannot believe I just read this post.

Last Sunday, I woke up feeling overwhelmed with the condition of my home. And I take it personally when the rest of the family doesn't see to "care" as much as I do. I was so overwhelmed...and starting to feel angry, frustrated. and like a failure too. Then I began to think of all the areas where I fail. Perhaps I am not teaching my kids all the right things. I mean..I felt like a failure in many many ways. then I felt like a failure because I had not been spending time with the Lord. or reading. and I am way too overweight and cant seem to get on the diet wagon. Over. Whelmed.

I went to church, and tried to worship, but I could NOT focus. All I could think about was how awful my house looked, how personally I was taking it, and how I was a failure in every way. Every time I tried to pray, I'd find myself obsessing on all this.

After struggling in prayer...I felt Peace come over me. I felt like this was not a problem about my family, or my home, etc. It was just how I was viewing things. But I felt...happy. Peaceful. No explanation except that in my pleading during worship...God met me there.

I did begin some planning to organize my home and life. And asked God to help me and he did. Its only been a week, but I asked him to help me be disciplined. I soooo lack discipline. But He helped me this week. One day at a time.

Sorry for the loong post...but I Could not believe you wrote everything I felt last Sunday!!! It makes me feel better to know that these are probably common feelings for us stay at home moms. :)
