Still Kickin'

I don't think I've spent this much time away from a computer in years!  Sorry to be such a lame blogger lately - I've been struggling to just remain upright.

It's strange...there are ways that I've actually enjoyed being sick the past couple of days.  I (by necessity) have slowed down and am really just taking it all in.  I tried to tackle stuff on my to do list today, but I was literally sweating and gasping for breath after putting photos in an album, so I took the hint and took a break.

I sat on the couch and just watched my little Thomas play today - so fascinating and sweet to watch his brain work...those pudgy little fingers grabbing the toys...and his little diaper butt running around the living room.  Man, I love that boy.  And I snuggled with Samantha more than my gotta-get-stuff-done self usually does.  And Clara and I had fun doing her homework instead of trying to just get it done already.  And I sat with Ben for a good 30 minutes and just listened to him talk about his day when he came home.

Why don't I do this every day?  What's more important than this?  Nothing, that's what.

A good "knock you off your feet" chest cold...apparently it's just what I needed!

Sounds like the perfect prescription for life. I'm way to get-it-done-already most of the time too. While I have really missed your blog, there are so few places that we play a truly irreplaceable role. Sounds like you're hitting on all cylinders where it is most important. Hats off to you.

I hope you get well soon! Theraflu Nighttime Cold/Cough/Flu will put you to sleep...coma...if you need it. It helped Scott get back from the brink.;-)

I wish I were there to bring you a big pot of chicken noodle soup!!

I hope today is much better.

Slowing down is never easy as we always feel we have to do this or have to do that. Then something happens and we can't and we see that indeed just stopping to smell the roses or watch one of your children play is more important.

Oh, I hope you feel better soon! Take it easy, and keep enjoying your down time with your kiddos!

I have to agree with you! Sometimes, I get too carried away with blogging!

I hope you get well soon!
