To Take Into Consideration...

Once again, my Ben had a few enlightening words to share while we drove in the car tonight.

"Mom!"

"Yeah Ben! Please don't scream!"

"Sorry"

"It's okay, what's so exciting?"

"Well, did you know that one of the maybe Presidents thinks it's okay to kill babies when they're in their mommies' tummies?!"

"Wow. Where'd you hear that?"

"Kids at school were talking about it because they heard their parents talking about it."

"Oh. Okay."

"It's true you know!"

"Yeah, I know. Some people think that it should be okay to do that. What do you think?"

"NO. I don't think that's okay!"

"Yeah, me either."

"Okay, well I just wanted to make sure you knew so you don't vote for that guy!"

"Good reminder. Thanks."

To tell you the truth, I will be so glad when this election is over. Nothing spurs on an argument like politics even among love ones. I'll also be glad to have my telephone back from politcial calls.

I took my children to the polling booth and they were able to see first hand, how politics work. It was exciting to see their faces.
How our decisions affect other people! What a calling!

"Out of the mouths of babes..." Life is so much simpler when looking at through a child's eyes, isn't it? :)

Just like Emily, I think it is amazing to see the purity and truth of life through a child's eyes. So honest and uninhibited...not worrying about what is politically correct.

Smart kid you've got there. I like that he not only has his own opinions, but that he's making sure you are voting based on issues that are important to him. =) Great job, mom.

Sorry...one of those school friends asks me lots of questions because the news comes on after "Ruff Ruffman." I need to remember that everything I say will be heading down the hill.

Hope it was OK this time.
